A Hello Kitty Themed Café Will Open Its Doors In California This Month
Americans who heard about the Hello Kitty cafe in Seoul and felt pangs of envy can discard their jealousy. According to LAist, a Hello Kitty Cafe will pop up the Irvine Spectrum Center in Orange Country at the end of this month.
Sanrio Makes Dreams Come True
The company behind the Hello Kitty brand, Sanrio has spearheaded the cafe. It’ll be housed in a shipping container and remain in the mall for at least a year.
The cafe will be complete with Hello Kitty decor and items like macarons, doughnuts, mini cakes, artisanal sodas and coffee on the menu. Naturally, all the food items will carry some aspect of Hello Kitty pasted across them. Other popular Sanrio brands like Little Twin Stars and Keroppi will be present in the cafe.
Say Hello Kitty At A Food Truck
For those of you that don’t live in Irvine, keep an eye out for the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck, a Hello Kitty themed food truck that’s been traversing the West Coast since the Hello Kitty Con (yes, that existed) last year.
The food truck gave Sanrio the idea for a permanent restaurant, as it was thronged by thousands of visitors; both young girls who enjoyed the kawaii appeal of Hello Kitty and adults who were looking for a throwback to childhood.
Get your fill of nostalgia at the end of this month when the Hello Kitty Cafe opens its doors!
