Aditi Rao Hydari Treated Herself To A Cherry Mask & Here’s Why You Should Too

on

Fruits and fresh greens are a great source of essential nutrients to keep our insides happy. A lot of these natural yummies are also excellent for nourishing our outsides in the form of scrubs, masks, and washes. A fact that we were recently reminded of by actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who took to Instagram to share a picture of herself enjoying an au naturale cherry facemask. And if the Bhoomi leads natural glow and flawless skin is anything to go by, we can trust her judgment when it comes to face care.

From the looks of it, Hydari seems to have put on a homemade cherry mask. You can make one too! All you need to do is mash up some cherries, remove the pit, and apply the paste on your face. You could even swank it up by mixing the mashed cherries with a teaspoon of organic honey and lemon juice for added hydration and nourishment.

But what are the benefits of this fresh mask? Apart from re-hydrating your skin, here are five more reasons why you should follow Aditi’s lead and whip up a cherry mask for yourself at home.

  1. Skin Lightening

Cherry juice is a rich source of Vitamin C and therefore a great natural way to lighten your skin and rid your face of unwanted dark spots and dullness.

  1. Anti-Inflammatory

Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, cherry masks can do wonders for those dealing with acne and even redness and bumps caused due to rosacea.

  1. Moisturizing

The fruit is a great way to naturally restore the moisture balance of your skin. Moreover, a cherry pack can greatly soothe damaged skin as well.

  1. Antioxidant

Being rich in antioxidants, cherries also help fight against signs of aging as they protect the skin from damage by free radicals.

  1. Exfoliate

Take it a step further and spike your mask with a teaspoon of oatmeal or coarse sugar and apply as an exfoliating scrub. While the cherry will lighten, hydrate, and refresh your skin, the sugar/oatmeal will work to remove dead skin from your face.

And while you’re replenishing your skin, here are a few hair masks to make your tresses long, shiny, and healthy.
