BCCI Requests Cricket Australia To Not Include Beef In The Menu For The Indian Cricket Team
According to the report by the Hindustan Times, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked for non-inclusion of beef in the menu for the Indian Cricket Team. They’ve sent an advance party group to Cricket Australia for this and other preps required for the team who will soon be visiting the country. The decision was made after getting many complaints on a twitter update by the BCCI.
Not Beefing Around
The BCCI had tweeted ‘A well-earned lunch for #TeamIndia,’ on Twitter along with a picture of the menu of the day. The menu included a Braised Beef Pasta which faced a lot of backlash which led to the decision by the board. They’ve also asked Cricket Australia for an Indianised diet for the players and include more vegetarian dishes and fruits. “Players often complain about the blandness of food served in Australia. There are a few vegetarians in the team who really struggle at the grounds. The inspection team has also roped in an Indian restaurant in Australia to supply curries to the boys,” a source told the Mumbai Mirror.
