Congressman Louie Gohmert Just Wants Everyone To Enjoy His Grills, Okay?

on

We are not even kidding, because that exactly what he wants – to barbeque in peace and for everyone to enjoy his culinary skills. During an address to the House yesterday, Republican Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert stole a minute of everyone’s time to address a rather pressing issue – his barbecue cookouts.

During the speech where he addressed other “petty” issues such as bureaucracy and the implementation of a big government, Gohmert got rather sensitive when while taking about the Capitol’s architect, who had treacherously attempted to stop him from cooking ribs on the balcony of his office! Damnit, Mr. Architect!

“About seven years ago, the architect of the Capitol, who works for the House and the Senate, had decided that we all work for him and started making demands,” Gohmert grieved. “One of which was that I could not cook ribs and share them with other members of the Congress.” Of course, we understand where this entire lament is coming from, given the congressman’s love for the culinary arts.

Although, there was a silver lining to his woeful address as Republican Whip Steve Scalise and Speaker Paul Ryan got involved in the matter “were able to persuade the bureaucracies here on Capitol Hill that we can make this work and have it safe”, Louie Gohmert said, adding that his colleagues have admitted that the ribs are “the best meat they’ve ever tasted”.

In closing, the Congressman, who has “enough of his late mother in him” that makes him enjoy cooking and feeding people, added “it’s probably the only time here on Capitol Hill when I actually leave a good taste in people’s mouths instead of a bitter taste.” Watch the address below.

Aye you all, now don’t be messing with the Congressman’s grills and skewers, okay? Peace!
