Devour Mediterranean Food Like Never Before At Amuse House, New Delhi

on

It was the early 2000s and Delhi was only getting acquainted with the concept of malls, courtesy Khel Gaon’s amphitheater-esque shopping hub Ansal Plaza. The popular mall after a deceleration of few years is now back again and much to the delight of the Capital’s food-lovers, Ansal Plaza is soon becoming the place to be for exciting new cuisines including the likes of Korean, Japanese, Continental, Indian, Italian, and so much more.

The latest name to be added to the mall’s roster of up and coming eateries is the all-new Mediterranean nook Amuse House. The brainchild of former Ernst & Young CA, Tushar Kapoor, the restaurant vows the to bring “the good side of food” to Delhi.

The Space

Located on the first level of the mall’s C-Block, Amuse opens out to a sprawling garden landscape in Hudco Place. The lush green scenery sets the perfect backdrop and mood for the extensive Mediterranean menu served at the restaurant. Though ideal for monsoon and winter, the alfresco setting is a winner for all seasons with the restaurant’s fancy mist fans.

Inside, keeping up with the Mediterranean undertone, the space is decked up in crisp shades of ivory, tan, and a faded lapis blue that pair beautifully with the neo chandeliers as well as the refreshing floral linen and wallpaper.

The Food

Amuse House’s Executive Chef Arvind Bharti hails from a five-star background, having worked with Whyndam Group of hotels, Impresario Group, and Massive Restaurants Pvt. Ltd. Staying true his impressive training, Chef Bharti brings only the very best in Mediterranean cuisine to the table. We got a wholesome peak into his culinary prowess at Amuse.

The spread at this European bistro prides itself with a bevy of preparations from a delish seafood linguine to delicious jumbo prawns. We had the palate-pleasing experience of trying out – and borderline tripping on – the rockstar menu and some of our absolute favourites were the bread basket that came with a range of lip-smacking in-house flavoured butters, the hummus and pita, the pork belly with parsnip cream, the lamb fatayers, the saucy seafood linguine that came loaded with prawns and oysters, the seafood basket, and the juicy slow-cooked lamb chops.

Some of the more off-beat yet equally seconds-worthy dishes were the Manchego and Sweet Corn Stuffed Chilies with Spring Onion and Aioli, Chicken Liver Pate on a bed of Chicken Terrine with poached egg, Grilled Goat Cheese and Burnt Orange Salad, and the chickpea falafel that came with mint yogurt and chive dressing.

We paired all the edible awesomeness with the Kiwi Kukama, a vodka and kiwi-based cocktail; the Devil Head, an exotic blend of Thai chili infused vodka, cranberry juice, and applewood smoke old fashion; and a fruity Mango Mule that brought together summer in a glass with fresh mangoes, ginger, cucumber, and honey.

In conclusion, it is safe to say that Amuse sure does bring about the good side of Mediterranean grub. And we’re super stoked to have found our new favourite place to binge out on lamb shanks, pork chops, falafels, and hummus!
