Eating Circles at Kilpauk
Yes, we are talking about a restaurant. No, we are not talking about circles in Kilpauk, Chennai.
Eating Circles, the name of the restaurant is inspired by the shape of many Indian foods. So creative! We’re almost always eating cirlces like dosa, poori, chappati, idli etc.
Chennai has an overabundance of South Indian eateries.
So what makes this one different?
According to proprietor Aashruth Rangarajan, there was a dearth of places in Chennai where you could get a good Kannadiga meal/breakfast. Especially the sweet version of the sambhar that is exclusive to Karnataka was elusive in Chennai.
The ratio in which ingredients are mixed for different types of dosa batters vary from state to state. The Kannadiga dosa is usually crispy and fluffy at the same time. This makes it a different eating experience apart from other dosa’s.
The menu includes Neer Dosa, Red Rice Dosa and even a Zero oil Dosa.
The Ghee Thattu Idli ,Sabudhana pongal and the special Vada also come highly reccomended. Rose milk is the most popular drink.
The place is small and you may to wait a while during weekends, but the food will definitely be worth it.
