Eating Pizza For Breakfast Is Healthier Than Cereals Says Expert
Yes, you read it right. With the goodness of carbohydrates, proteins and based on your order even vegetables, pizza is actually healthier than cereals says a dietician in an interview with The Daily Meal.
Hear It From The Expert
“You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories,” explained Chelsey Amer, MS, RDN, CDN to The Daily Meal. “However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.”
She did add that pizza is not a health food but it is a nutritious option when compared to a sugary bowl of cereal and the former even counts as a more balanced meal. “Plus, a slice of pizza contains more fat and much less sugar than most cold cereals, so you will not experience a quick sugar crash,” Amer added.
