Foodie Excitement Reborn At Garage Inc
After a rip-roaring launch of pub Garage Inc. Public House, where some stimulating fusion cocktails like Boston Sour and the Burnt Carribean were served along with appetizing mini burgers, biryani, paneer tikka , we decided to check out the food on a regular day.
Delhi-based Garage Inc. now stands in place of the popular Palkhi restaurant in Colaba. It has retained most of the interiors of the erstwhile restaurant while some frames of musicians, posters of vehicles with dim lighting and music distinguish it as a lounge place. Their menu sports Continental, Asian, North Indian, Italian and some special kebabs.
An array of cocktails and mocktails with thick yummy shakes and Garage Spl. Fruit punch thrown in good measure make up the well-stocked and inviting bar.
As we settle in one of the tables, young and enterprising owner and ex-Chef of Taj group of hotels, Anisha Maker joins us. The immense popularity of Garage Inc. in Delhi prodded her to open one in the Maximum City.
Her enthusiasm to take food to the next level is evident in the wacky presentation of dishes. For instance, crispy fries topped with gravy, veggies, cheese sauce and grated cheese made up Cheesy Fries while street food of Bhaji Pav was served in a rack with green chutney and guava salsa.
Melting cheese in a mini pot accompanied Garlic bread that was nice and buttery with a generous garnish of garlic topping.
We also tried the scrumptious mini Thai rolls – spring rolls in other words – delectable!
The thin-crust Corn Pizza was crisp to the bite and the creamy cheese with toppings of tomato, bell peppers and zucchini enhanced its taste.
Mains saw us order from the North Indian selection. Dum Aloo, Kadai Paneer, Cheese Kulcha – all cooked to perfection and yum yum yum of an authentic Punju flavor. Spices have been used to complement the dish and not overpower. For a change, we too did a mish –mash of oriental and Indian by ordering Fried Rice with Dal Tadka and loved it. My only grouse is they don’t have much to choose from on the dessert front. We were served marshmallows in chocolate sauce and the ice creams had a rich, creamy texture.
Fizz out a little early at Garage Inc. as you can now enjoy a Buy 2 and get 1 free offer from 4 pm to 8 pm from Monday through Friday. To say weekdays surely did get a lot more exciting would be an understatement! Enjoy foot tapping music as well, played by their in-house DJ and party the night away. Also, gorge on some mouth-watering food from their wide selection of fusion dishes and nibble on finger food with your drinks. Worth checking it out!
