Get Your McDonald’s Burgers In 30 Seconds With Freecharge
McDonald’s has partnered with Freecharge, one of the leading digital wallet companies in India, offering its customers a one click payment option across all outlets in west and south India. Partnering with Freecharge will drastically reduce the transaction time for Mcdonald’s customers with the use of a digital wallet.
The service, which went live on January 14 across all 216 McDonald’s outlets in 26 cities, will integrate an on-the-go pin authentication method instead of the current OTP based system. The authentication will help facilitate an easier method of payment option. Govind Rajan, Chief Operating Office, Freecharge, speaking about the partnership said, “We are excited to partner with McDonald’s to launch the swiftest yet safest payment method for customers. McDonald’s immense popularity demanded that we process payments in less than 30 seconds. Given the scale, the need for speed, McDonald’s implementation was the most stringent test a payment system can undergo.”
Since the launch of the service, Freecharge has introduced offers to entice the customers into using their online payment platform. Until January 31, all first orders placed at McDonald’s through the platform will receive an cashback of 50% with a maximum value of Rs. 100.
Offline Payment
The service from Freecharge is unique in that it does not require a working internet connection for payment. “”We worked closely with McDonald’s to deliver a ‘built to order’ product, the transactions are done within 10 seconds and we have developed an innovative on-the-go pin, with which the customers can generate a code on their app even if not connected to the internet,” added Rajan.
