Gorge On Delicious Odiya Food In Delhi This Weekend!

on

Delhi! Skip the dhabas and pubs this week to relish some delicious food from Odisha. That’s right; gear your palate up for a lavish meal, a.k.a. the Jagannath Bhog, as you douse your senses in the cultural and traditional prosperity of the state during the three day Odisha Parba being held in the Capital.

Starting 29th April, the fest will see a number of events showcasing the history, art, culture, traditions, dance forms and culinary delights of Odisha. “One might say that we have been late with this festival promoting Odisha and its great heritage, but as they say better late than never.

“This first of its kind presentation will showcase the culture of Odisha while placing before the national audience many unknown and lesser known facts about the state,” Sidharth Pradhan, President of Odia Samaj in Delhi, said.

The space will be adorned with art pieces including wood carvings, applique, and the popular Pattachitra in addition to a gorgeous display of their textile excellence as well. Among the many things that’ll be lighting up the Odisha Parba will be replicas of the three colourful chariots of Jagannath Dham, which will welcome visitors at the entrance. Also, don’t miss out the breath taking sand art by internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik.

But apart from all the arts, crafts, and textile, the one thing that we are MOST excited about is, of course, the food! “There will be both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and a variety of sea food in the eatery enclave. Many of these food items will be novelties for the taste buds in the cosmopolitan national capital,” Pradhan said.
