Hawaiian Woman Might Just Have Created A World Record Of Buying The Heaviest Avocado Till Date
West Hawaii Today reported about a woman who picked out an avocado which she felt was “as big as her head.” It also is probably the world’s heaviest weighing five pounds and close to four ounces and is all set to compete in the Guinness World Records.
The Heaviest Avocado
“I see avocados every day and I pick up avocados every day, but this one … it was hard to miss,” Pamela Wang who found the avocado in the market at Kealakekua, Hawaii told West Hawaii Today. According to Science Alert, the avocado belongs to the type Daily 11 which is supposed to be three times bigger in size than the common avocado and ordinarily found in markets.
Before eating up the avocado, not all by herself of course, Wang took it to the Pure Kona Green Market so that the community there could see it reports West Hawaii Today. After this, her friends also became interested in Wang’s discovery researching on the world’s largest avocados.
The publication also investigated that Wang’s avocado may be the world’s heaviest but not the world’s largest. A spokesperson from the Guinness World Records America told the publication that currently do not have the category for the world’s largest but Wang could compete for the world’s heaviest. The current champion for the latter category is Gabriel Ramirez Nahim belonging to Venezuela who grew it himself back in 2009 and the avocado weighed four pounds and 13.2 ounces.
To compete in the world records, Wang clicked plenty of pictures of her possession and got it weighed with an expert present. After she cut the fruit at Caffe Florian at Kealakekua sharing it with friends and others present there. “It tasted excellent,” Wang told West Hawaii Today. “The tree is very good. We had 10 people there and didn’t even use up half of one half of the avocado.”
