on

The Mumbai based LightSaber Food Ventures Pvt Ltd has announced that it has raised Rs.1.12crore in angel funding. The company operates the healthy snacking brand, Snackible.

All About Snackible

We placed the focus on Snackible last year, when we spoke with founder Aditya Sanghavi, who started Snackible in 2015. Sanghavi saw the need for healthier packaged snacking options saying “Snacking has been a part of our lives since childhood… it is so inherent but there’s no nutrition there.”

So, Sanghavi, along with his team began working on healthy, packaged snacks made with ingredients sourced from all over India. “India as a market is not going to compromise on taste. We mix Indian snacks with Western elements to make our snacks unique,” Sanghavi had said.

So, some of Snackible’s products include Jaggery Makhana, Baked Bhakarwadi and Kale Chips with Bahjra Puffs. Other products include Banana & Chia Granola Crunchers, Roasted Mexican Chip Peas and Seedy Crunchers.

Snackible delivers across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

The Funding

According to a report in VCC Circle, the company raised $175,000 in an angel round of funding. The investors included Bibhrant Shah, Anandbir Singht, Anirudh Sheth, Pratik Singhi, Jitendra Mahnot, Vikram Mehta and Murali Nair.

The funds will be used for expanding across India, hiring and marketing. The company also hopes to expand into the Middle East and the UK.
