Heritage Increases Milk Prices In Chennai
Following a collection of other milk brands to raise prices of packaged milk, Heritage, an Andhra Pradesh based company is raising its price by Rs.2 per litre in and around Chennai.
The Heritage brand sells three lakh litres of milk in Chennai and its suburbs. It’s raising its prices to Rs.2 litre more per litre making standardised milk Rs.48 while the full cream variety will be Rs.52.
Several other milk brands in India including Amul, Mother Dairy and Verka have also raised their prices due to procurement prices. However, Heritage did not give any reasons for its increased prices and sources say that Chennai is not suffering any procurement or milk shortage problems.
Meanwhile the government supplier of milk, Avian, sells standardised milk at Rs.39 a litre.
