I Would Have Loved To Cook For Mahatma Gandhi – Sanjeev Kapoor
Sanjeev Kapoor is a renowned celebrity chef and his culinary skills are extraordinary. Starting from a humble weekly show (Khana Khazana) he has come a long way.
In his interview with India Today he mentioned that he would have loved to cook for Mahatma Gandhi as being a simple man, he had simple choices in food. “It is always a challenge and a pleasure to serve someone like that” he added.
Speaking of simplicity, while talking about the food he missed while travelling his reply was that he missed Rajma-chawal and kadhi-chawal. He also said that Sattu as an ingredient isn’t in the limelight yet. “It can be used to make flatbreads, laddoos and also the famous litti. My favourite is sattu ka sherbet, which can be made sweet or savoury.”
While talking about his association with the food served in the Indian Railways, Kapoor said, “The idea is to serve not only tasty but also wholesome and nutritious meals. I am a big fan of the railway mutton curry. It is perfect comfort food. I want to make sure the menu reflects the brilliance of local cuisine.”
