McDonald’s In Mumbai Faces Flak By The FDA Over Hygiene

The popular fast food chain McDonald’s outlet in in High Street Phoenix at Lower Parel area of Mumbai has received a warning over hygiene by Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports NDTV. According to the FDA the outlet had breached the food safety standards.

Surprise Check By The FDA

The McDonald’s outlet which usually is a busy one being centered by the popular shopping hubs like High Street Phoenix and Palladium, came under the scanner of the FDA when the latter decided to conduct a surprise check says the report. The FDA found that the outlet had been cooking the food in unhygienic conditions and not being prominent is showing their licence copy.

The FDA under the light of these violations, gave the McDonald’s outlet a warning to correct the faults found during the inspection in the next 15 days else an action will be taken against the restaurant. The report by NDTV says that HardCastle Restaurants that run McDonald’s have taken the warning seriously and said in a statement today that they are working on the same. “As a part of a routine investigation we have received some queries from the FDA. We have already submitted our response to the points raised,” said the company in the statement.
