Mother Dairy Plans To Tap Into East And West India Soon
Mother Dairy, a dairy company which has a stronghold in Noida and Delhi is reportedly planning to expand its presence in East and West India. The dairy company manufactures, markets and sells milk as well as a range of milk products like ice cream, paneer and ghee.

According to the Times Of India, the dairy company has adopted a strategy called ‘purab-paschim’ (east and west). It will begin expansion into Maharashtra with a plant in Nagpur which it will invest Rs.10-15 crores to revamp and Rs.30 crore to procure milk. “We are in talks with the Maharashtra government for a new plant in Bhiwandi that may require investment of around Rs 150 crore,” Nagarajan S, MD of Mother Dairy said to the Times Of India.
Additionally, the company is planning to set up a plant for fruits and vegetables in Jharkhand; this will contribute to Mother Dairy’s Safal wing, which focuses on retailing fresh fruits and vegetables as well frozen produce, juices, sauces and pickles.
It will also strengthen the Safal band by revamping Safal stores which sell the produce; it will spend upto Rs.15 lakh for each store’s revamp.
According to the report, these plans are Mother Dairy’s response to competition as well as part of its aim to increase its sales to Rs.10,000 crore.
