Nestle To Cut Down Sugar And Calories In Its Products
Nestle, one of the world’s largest chocolate and candy manufacturers, has announced that it will be cutting down the sugar and calories in several of its products. This is in line with several FMCG companies who have been making their products healthier to keep up with consumer demands.
Cutting Calories
Nestle announced that it will be using 7,500 less tonnes of sugar to make products like Kit Kats, Yorkie chocolate bars , Aero and Smarties.
The sugar will be replaced with ingredients that are already in the confectionaries like wafers in Kit Kats and more caramel in Toffee Crisp.
Nestle has also reportedly been working on technology which will make sugar molecules bigger so they can use lower amounts of sugar but retain the same levels of sweetness.
