Night Bazaars With Food, Shopping And A Complete Experience To Be Held In Mumbai

The rule to stay open 24×7 is coming into play as Mumbai is all set to host its first three night bazaars in non-residential areas between 12^th to 31^st January. The Mumbai Shopping Festival will be held on 13^th and 14^th Jan at Jio Gardens in BKC, on 19^th and 20^th Jan at Mindspace in Malad and on 26^th and 27^th in Powai says a report by the Times of India.

Food, Shopping & Entertainment

The Mumbai Shopping Festival will have an all-round experience that’ll include shopping and entertainment events. Plus, there are zones dedicated to food trucks which will give foodies a taste of national and international flavours says the report. The law that allows shops to remain open 24×7 has been a subject of debate for a long time now and has finally come to realisation through these night bazaars, the first event of its kind in Mumbai this year.

The food truck zones, along with the market will also remain open through the night and Ashutosh Rathod, the Joint MD at MTDC who wants to highlight the best that the city has to offer has told the publication that, “We have ensured that there is something for everyone. Mumbai’s vibrancy will be on show during the festival.”

International Standard Of The Festival

The report by the Times of India further says that the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has planned the Mumbai Shopping Festival on the lines of the international shopping festival like that of Dubai and Singapore. The move has been made to attract tourists to Mumbai and for this, the MTDC has approached above 5000 brands to participate and even offers discounts at these bazaars.

“We have tied up with most major malls and departmental stores to participate in the festival,” said an official who talked to the Times of India. The MTDC has also called upon the dabbawallas for advertising and marketing the festival. Together they have come up with promotional activity wherein each person who calls for a dabba delivery will be receiving a discount coupon to be used at the festival.
