Breakfast at Tiffany’s Croissant Recipe
One of the most memorable scenes in classic film history is the opening scene of ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ , a cult film that is arguably the most iconic film of Audrey Hepburn’s career. Thanks to the film, Hepburn in that classic black dress graces many a fan’s wall. The opening scene speaks volumes about Hepburn’s intriguing character, Holly and the glamour she will display in the film:
What makes the scene even better, aside from the beautiful dress and the display window of Tiffany’s, is the croissant and coffee that Holly is drinking; visually conveying the title ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’. While we can’t tale ourselves to Tiffany’s right about now, we can channel the spirit of the movie by enjoying a freshly made croissant and cup of black coffee.
The Croissant
A croissant is a French and Austrian pastry made using yeast leavened dough that is layered with butter, rolled and folded several times. The croissant gets its name from its crescent shape. A good croissant is buttery, flaky and dissolves in one’s mouth.
For this recipe, we cheated a little and used ready made puff pastry. However, we guarantee it’ll give you delicious crumbly croissants; enjoy them for breakfast with black coffee. Don a black dress and watch Breakfast in Tiffany’s to get a little more fan-domy.
