Enid Blyton Pork Pies Recipe
Enid Blyton books are a classic from everyone’s childhood. We used to buy a book a week and eagerly devour the adventures of the Famous Five, the Five Find-Outers, the Secret Seven, the children of the Faraway Tree and the adventures of girls at boarding schools. While we devoured the books, characters in the stories could often be found devouring delicious British treats. As children, we had no idea where to get ourselves potted meat that the Famous Five enjoyed or those pork pies that the girls at Mallory Towers got into trouble over. Today, we have the skills to make them ourselves.
Pork Pies
Pork pies feature in most of Blyton’s boarding school series -in The Twins at St Clare’s, Matron chastises the girls for eating too many pork pies and warns them that they will get stomach aches. Nevertheless, the girls continue to feast on the pies; after all, when you’re in boarding school you’re perpetually hungry and in search of delicious food.
So that you don’t suffer from tummy aches but still get to enjoy the wonder that is the British pork pie, we’re sharing this recipe for miniature pork pies; enjoy them as a snack or appetiser for a meal.
