Eragon Hazelnut Butter Recipe
What with all the attention on Game of Thrones lately (have you seen the latest episode?!) we thought we’d reminisce about another classic fantasy series; the Inheritance Trilogy of which the first book was Eragon. In the trilogy, a farm boy, Eragon finds a dragon egg which hatches to give him Saphira – the first free dragon in 100 years in Algaesia, the fictional world ‘Eragon’ is set in. With Saphira, Eragon has to battle Galbotrix, the evil king that rules Algaesia. During his fight, he meets and joins with a variety of mythical character including elves and dwarves.
The Elves’ Hazlenut Butter
Jut like they are portrayed in The Lord of the Rings, the elves in ‘Eragon’ are mysterious, beautiful creatures that appear to be immortal. Like the elves in Lord of the Rings they serve their guests delicious, enchanting food.
One particular food that captured our attention from the novel was the elves’ hazelnut butter; a spread used in the place of normal butter because the elves did not believe in exploiting animals.
We’ve found a hazelnut butter recipe that creates a truly divine butter; it’s perfect for vegans! Use the butter as a spread on bread, pancakes and waffles for breakfast.
