Kerala Chicken Stew Recipe
Kerala chicken stew is a delicious chicken preparation where chicken is cooked in a rich coconut broth.
This stew is moderately spicy; adjust the green chillies according to your spice preferences. Serve the stew with hot appams, puttu or bread for breakfast, lunch or a light dinner!

Ingredients
- 1/2 kg Chicken cut into pieces
- 4 onions sliced
- 1 Potato cut into cubes
- 6 green chillies halved
- A handful of curry leaves
- 4 Cloves
- 1 inch Ginger chopped
- 5 garlic pods chopped
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp peppercorns
- 1/2 cup Thin coconut milk
- 1 cup thick coconut milk
- pinch Aof pepper
- 4 tbsp cooking oil
- salt as required

Instructions
- Heat the oil and sauté the green chillies, cloves, ginger and curry leaves for half a minute.
- Add the onions and sauté until they become translucent.
- Add the garam masala and allow it to roast for 30 seconds.
- Mix it in with the onions and add the pepper corns.
- Stir in the chicken.
- Stir in the potato.
- Sauté for a minute.
- Stir in the thin coconut milk and allow the chicken to cook for a minute.
- Pour this mixture into a pressure cooker and cook for two whistles.
- Once the steam escapes from the pressure cooker open it and stir in the thick coconut milk.
- Stir in a little pepper and salt as required.
- The stew is ready!
