Restaurant Week India: Make Reservations At These Restaurants In Mumbai
It’s that time of the year again. Until May 1st, foodies across Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai will get to enjoy set meals at a fixed price at their city’s best restaurants courtesy Restaurant Week India.
What’s Restaurant Week?
Restaurant Week India started in Mumbai in September 2010 under Cellar Door Hospitality Private LTD. Powered by OLA Prime, it teams up with a range of the best restaurants in each city and allows customers to enjoy a three course fixed price menu at a nominal amount compared to the restaurant’s regular prices.
Sounds appealing? Of course it does. Here some Mumbai specific information for Mumbai foodies:
Restaurant Week In Mumbai
A customer can book a spot at a restaurant for Rs.1,100 for lunch and Rs. 1,300 for dinner, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Additionally, there’s the added feature of Restaurant Week Signature options, which allows diners to opt for the restaurant’s signature dishes in lieu of an appetiser or main course on the fixed menu. Going for the restaurant’s signature appetiser will be an additional Rs. 200 and the main course will be an additional Rs. 300.
Oriental Restaurants
If you’re a fan of Asian fare, there’s a whole plethora of restaurants that will cater to your taste buds. Shiro is offering a menu including Thai Kwai seafood soup, spicy prawn with avocado maki and a chicken hot pot with shiitake mushrooms. Then there’s Yauatcha at BKC, offering range of dumplings, stir frys and noodle preparations. Also included in the Oriental restaurants are Hakkasan, China House and By The Mekong.
Indian Dining
If you prefer Indian flavours, book a table at 25 Parganas for authentic Bengali dishes or Dakshin Coastal at the ITC Maratha for a range of South Indian dishes. There’s also Jyran at the Sofitel with dishes like Amritsari murgh shorba and meat chappli kabab and paneer kadai on the menu. We’re also excited to try a meal at Atul Kochar’s newly opened NRI (Not Really Indian) which has dishes like Phaldaari Chaat, Mombasa Jeera Chicken and NRI Dal Makhni on the menu.
Also included in the range of Indian restaurants are The Sahib Room & Kipling Bar, Peshwari and Dum Pukht.
European Eats
If you feel like taking your taste buds west, book a spot at The Trident’s Botticino which has an extensive Italian menu, or Bungalow 9 which offers a range of European and Mediterranean dishes. You can also book a table at the Olive Bar & Kitchen which has items like Lime and Norwegian salmon fishcakes and roast chicken on its menu. Another option is The Sassy Spoon, with a menu of chicken and coconut soup, roasted aubergine cannelloni and nutty ricotta ravioli.
