Shiro Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary And They Have An All New Refreshing Menu That You Do Not Want To Miss
A decade ago, the Oriental dining scene saw the opening of a spectaular restaurant – Shiro. Ever since then, Shiro has been capturing imagination and stretching senses by combining the finest of Oriental cuisine and devastatingly good cocktails with top-end quality entertainment.
To celebrate it’s tenth anniversary, this fine-dining restaurant has curated a special menu: The Best of Shiro. This special limited edition menu will feature the most loved and bestselling signature dishes of Shiro in the past 10 years, dishes that are no more a part of the current menu but have been hot favorites of the patrons of Shiro.
This menu is one you do not want to miss. We headed over to Shiro to join their anniversary celebrations and we loved every bit of it.
An Explosion For The Taste Buds
The appetizer section, on its own, has a plethora of choice of a range of delectable dumpling, sushi, sashami and wasabi. To start off, we had the cream cheese and mushroom dumplings served in truffle broth. This was an explosion of flavors that were earthy and creamy, This dish had the perfect balance of textures and was a delight to out taste buds.
When it came to the non-vegetarian fare, we tried the maki platter which had a range of flavorsome delicacies such as the New york tuna, salmon sushi, spicy prawn and avocado, and the californaia roll. The sashami and sushi we tasted were perfect in terms of taste, texture, and balance of flavors. We were off to a great start! If you’re a vegetarian, you have nothing to worry about. The vegetarian maki platter is equally enticing and delicious, and being die-hard non-vegetarians, we enjoyed every bite of the vegetarian platter. Now that’s saying a lot!
From the range of delectable starters, look out for the vietnamese chicken skewers, the chicken yatari, the chicken basil dumplings, the pan fried prawn and chive, and the malaysian chicken.
We particularly enjoyed the wasabi prawns dumplings which was the perfect combination of creamy wasabi mayonnaise with succulent prawns in a bright green wrapper that had hints of wasabi flavour.
By this time , much to our dismay, we were pretty full. So we decided to skip the main course. But we were told that we were missing out on a range of their delectable classics like chicken hot pot with shiitake mushrooms, tenderloin in coconut, fish in chilli mustard, among others. When you ghead over to Shiros, definitely leave room for the main course!
We all have a penchant for sweets, no doubt. And this proved true, since we were tempted by the range of their delicious and mouth watering desserts such as the chocolate volcano, mandarin velvet cake and chocolate cherry bomb.
We decided to try the mandarin velvet cake. And boy, we were glad we did! This delectable dessert was a treat for the taste buds. The base was a layer of mandarin velvet cake, topped with a brick of decadent chocolate containing bits of caramalised orange rind and was served with a smear of mandarin jus. This was zingy, sweet and was balanced by a tad bit of sourness. The perfect end to a perfect meal!
