Sony Liv Introduces Genre Of Food On World Food Day With Chef Sanjeev Kapoor

A grand evening awaited us at St. Regis in Mumbai as Sony Liv came together with Food Food, a popular TV Channel and Rajshri Food which is known for its popularity on YouTube. The collaboration was done to introduce the genre of food on the occasion of World Food Day with celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor taking the center stage.

A Night To Remember

It was truly a cherished evening as the celebrity chefs and the EVP and Head of – Digital Business, Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) took the stage to introduce the food genre. “With the introduction of the food genre, SonyLIV is committed to engaging its viewers with the best of world cuisine curated by top celebrity chefs. We have displayed our pioneering edge by being the first OTT platform in India to introduce the category of food. Not only that, we are committed to doubling our repertoire of exclusive food content from 4000 hours to over 8000 hours over the next 12 months. Food is going to be a major genre on SonyLIV going forward, in addition to entertainment and sports.”

Followed by an applause, the audience welcomed the Padma Shree recipient Chef Sanjeev Kapoor on stage. Expressing his excitement about his association with SONY Liv, he also encouraged everyone to not to waste food as there are many who go hungry. With the aim of making of each citizen have three meals a day, he emphasised on how important it was to take only the required amounts on our plates.

“Via this association with SonyLIV, I hope to repeat the same success in a new digital world,” he said talking about the association. “SonyLIV’s massive user base further inspires me to dig deep into the vast culinary world and continue to bring newer, mouth-watering dishes to millions of devoted users of the platform. Experimentation and innovation are the key pillars for any chef and we will display the best that world cuisine has to offer. India is a food-loving country and this free service from SonyLIV is bound to attract a large viewer population of foodies and food-enthusiasts.”

Friendly Cook-Off

The chefs Harpal Singh Sokhi, Saransh Goila, Shailendra Kekade, and Shantanu Gupte took the stage for a friendly cook-off. Amrita Raichand gladly played the host and even talked about healthy food. There was tons of humour, enthusiasm and sizzling food as the competition went on and Chef Sanjeev Kapoor tasted the food with equal enthusiasm. Who was the winner you ask? Well, the dishes were so good, that they were on par!
