SuperChef Chennai And The International Food Carnival Are Back in Chennai This Weekend
SuperChef Chennai is back and this year it’s going to be even bigger. On February 4th and 5th, Madras Cosmopolitan Ladies Circle 38 and Madras Cosmopolitan Roundtable 94 come together for a weekend you will not forget. The International Food Carnival is back as well, happening at Amir Mahal Grounds in Royapettah on the 4th of February. Like before, SuperChef Chennai brings to food lovers and food enthusiasts alike a weekend of curated and exclusive offerings of out-of-the-box cuisines and food vendors. Plus, the two-stage, high profile cooking competition returns as well!
International Food Carnival
There will be 60 food stalls, as well as 10 non-food stalls with enough room for guests to sit and eat. The food carnival, like the year before, will feature a well-curated list and exclusive offerings from different parts of the world. Food lovers in Chennai can enjoy exotic food like Nasi Degang from Malaysia to Thai Fried Chicken to Kashmiri Ristas to Japanese Sushi to Belgian Waffles. Plus, there will also be old favourites with a twist, as well as Parsi and Burmese caterers. And if that’s not enough, attendees can also enjoy the offerings from home cooks and the winners of the previous SuperChef contests.
SuperChef Chennai Cooking Contest
The city-wide cooking competition has returned, giving amateur cooks a platform to follow their passion. The contest is open to men, women and children above the age of 15 in the general category and children from 10-14 in the Junior SuperChef category. The contest is about making dishes that will win over the judges. The preliminary round happens on February 4th at The Park Chennai and then 12 finalists will go into the finals in the ultimate test of live cooking on February 5th. Participants will have to cook in the SuperChef pantry with undisclosed contents in front of the celebrity judges. The judges for this are Rajesh Radhakrishnan (GM, The Park Chennai), Chef Ashutosh along with celebrity judges Vicky Ratnani of NDTV Good Times, Chef Sanjay Thumma of Vahrevah and Chef Aditya Bal.
You can register for the cooking contest – Rs. 300 (individual adult), Rs.600 (Kids, a team of 2), Rs. 600 (Adults, a team of 2) – and buy tickets to attend the food carnival on their website.
