Holi Special Thandai Recipe
The festival of Holi not only brings along with it tons of food, guijya, and colors but also gallons of thandai and badam milk. While some people may like to spike theirs with bhang, we’d like to our drinks to skip the madness.
Thandai is a traditional flavored milk-based beverage, which is uber refreshing and can calm down even The Hulk. A special during Holis, this drink is loaded with dry fruits, spices, and sugar that give it the trademark Indian earmark. Follow this recipe to concoct this refreshing festive drink in your kitchen.

Ingredients
- 4 cups ½full- fat milk boiled and cooled
- cup ¼powdered sugar
- pinch Aof freshly ground black pepper
- a few saffron strands

- cup ¼almonds badam
- 2 tbsp Poppy seeds khus-khus
- 2 tbsp fennel seeds saunf
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder elaichi
- 20 whole white peppercorns kalimirch

Instructions
- Combine the prepared powder and milk in a deep bowl, mix well using a whisk and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Strain the mixture through a strainer, add the sugar, pepper powder and saffron and mix well.
- Pour equal quantities of the thandai into glasses and serve chilled.
