The ISL Players Just Stopped By Papa John’s In Chennai To Bake Some Pizza
Papa John’s had a night to remember earlier this month with a star-studded event of footballers and lots and lots of pizza. Chennai’s popular Indian Super League Players, Stiven Mendoza from Columbia (Striker), Bruno Pellisari (Attacking Mid-Fielder) from Brazil, Thoi Singh (Central Mid-Fielder) and Karanjit Singh (Goal Keeper) from India, paid a short visit to Papa John’s to do more than just having pizza. Papa John’s is this year’s official pizza parter for the league and were thrilled to be hosting this event. The players enthusiastically made their way to the kitchens to try their luck at making some fine pizzas, and boy did those pizzas look great!
There was a lot of hustle and excitement in the kitchens as we watched them knead some dough, chop some veggies, sprinkle some toppings, and throw in some cheese. Clearly, these footballers could do more than just play football. Who knew they could make such great pizzas?
As quoted by Mr. Joseph Cherian, CEO of Papa John’s, “It was a privilege to have the Chennaiyin FC Players at our outlet. The pizzas that they baked were great in taste and the experience of making pizzas with them was what made our day. We are looking forward for many more such engagements at our outlets”.
The Chennaiyin FC is an Indian Super League football franchise based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu that began to play in October 2014 during the inaugural season of the Indian Super League. The franchise is owned by Vita Dani, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Its player-manager is Italian World Cup-winning defender Marco Materazzi, and its marquee player is former Brazilian international midfielder Elano Blumer.
