The Royal Wedding Reception Will Be An Epic Feast With Comfort Food & Ice Cream Trucks
With less than a few hours to go for the most awaited wedding of the year on May 19th, more and more exciting details of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Royal event are upping social media’s level of excitement. And if anything can be deduced from these details, it’s that the Royal couple is more relatable than we could have imagined. The latest wedding reveal, courtesy of the Sunday Express, promises guests more than just a lavish British spread at the wedding.
According to the report, Harry and Meghan’s reception will feature late night sweet treats served up by ice cream vans. Moreover, as reported by Brides earlier this year, Markle reportedly also wants the menu to have an American touch, by “serving late night eats” at the wedding reception. According to Hayley Bloomingdale, communications manager at Moda Operandi, the bride will most probably go for American wedding post-dinner classics. So chances are, the elite guest list will be chowing down on some not-so-elite American comfort grubs.
However, this will not be the first Royal Wedding featuring ice cream vans. Back in 2011, Prince Harry convinced his brother, William, to have food trucks consisting of bacon and sausage sandwiches at his own wedding. As a result, Kate & William’s wedding party too had an alternative dessert station, that is, an ice cream truck, reported The Telegraph.
From ditching the traditional fruitcake for a refreshing elderflower and lime cake, which will be put together by London-based baker Claire Ptak, for their reception to the bride, Meghan giving a speech to her beau at their reception, this wedding is more millennial than it is traditional. And we’re loving it!
