Coffee In Clothes
Surprisingly, American Eagle isn’t the first manufacturer to include coffee in clothes. Virus, a sports apparel company introduced a line of ‘Stay Warm’ spandex, containing coffee grounds in 2012. Marks and Spencer also jumped on the coffee bandwagon by making shoes using recycled beans.
What’s The Benefit?
Other than the fact that the coffee in clothes trend reuses coffee beans in a step towards combatting waste, there are other benefits to the practice.
Coffee beans give the jeans antibacterial qualities, which means you’ll have to wash them less often. Additionally, the denim made with the beans is softer and lighter than regular fabric.
American Eagle has got a whole host of celebrities on board with the coffee jeans including Vanessa Hudgens and Hilary Duff. Are you planning to hop on the wagon?
