US Customers Can Now Rely On Facebook For Food Delivery
According to reports by the Reuters, the social media giant Facebook Inc has launched a service using which US users will be able to order food and get it delivered to their homes using the app or website.
Facebook Ties Up With Restaurants And Delivery Experts
The favourite food chains in the US like Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc, Jack In The Box Inc, Five Guys and Papa John’s International Inc have all tied up with Facebook for this new service. Facebook has also tied up with food delivery experts like EatStreet, Delivery.com, DoorDash and Olo as well.
How Can One Use The Service
If a customer wants to order through Facebook, they will have to go to ‘order food’ in its ‘explore’ menu to see the list of restaurants to choose from in their vicinity. One year ago Facebook had announced that the US users would be able to place food orders using a Facebook page of a restaurant.
The shares of Facebook went up by almost 1 per cent on the market early on Friday. On the other hand the shares of the food delivery service GrubHub Inc went down by almost 3 per cent. The shares of the latter were also affected and went down when Amazon Restaurants tied up with Olo as reported by the Reuters.
