Directed by Stephen Frears, the movie revolves around an unlikely but devoted bond between Queen Victoria (played by Dench) and a young clerk from India (Fazal), who becomes the Queen’s personal footman. The leading pair has been seen promoting their movie at a number of events and pitching in on the PR are a bunch of well-wishers as well, one of whom was ace chef Vikas Khanna.
The chef took to Instagram to share a mango-based dessert that he specially made to commemorate the movie. Why mangoes, you may wonder? Well, in the movie, Queen Victoria finds herself quite intrigued with a mango and has the fruit brought in for her all the way to England.
So, celebrating the monarch’s love for the golden fruit, Khanna prepared a beautiful mango panna cotta to pay his tribute to the King of Fruits. Served in a mini golden goblet and complete with poached pears, guava coulis, steamed yogurt, rose crystals and edible gold wrapped blueberries, the dessert is fit to be eaten by an Empress.
