Preparations
- Grate the coconut and make a chutney using all the chutney ingredients
- Marinate the seer fish fillets with turmeric, red chilly powder, lemon juice and salt
- Wash the banana leaves and heat it on the stove to make the leaves soft to avoid tearing when the fish is wrapped
Method
- Place some chutney on the leaf and spread it. Now place the a piece of fish fillet on that and cover the fish with the green chutney
- Wrap the banana leaves on four corners and tie it with the banana threads
- Place a steamer on the stove and allow the temperature to reach 100 degree Celsius
- Place the wrapped fish on the steamer plates and steam it for 5mins
- Remove it and serve it hot with lemon wedges
