The Chitirai Food Festival Treats Chennai to Food From All Over Tamil Nadu

Chennai Food Guide, in association with Food Consulate bring to Chennai the Chitirai Food Festival in celebration of Tamil New Year, happening in Velachery on the 30th of April and the 1st of May.

The food festival will host over 40 stalls selling traditional and modern snacks from all over Tamil Nadu, including places like Madurai, Trichy, Erode, Thirunelveli, Tuticorin, Coimbatore and more. You get to enjoy the different kinds of cuisines available from the state in one place.

-. Jigarthanda & Fresh juices from Madurai

There will also be stalls selling healthy, organic and medicinal food and other snacks made from ingredients like country sugar, millets and old grains.

Food is not all that you will find at the festival, there will be cultural performances like Thappattam, Kavadi Attam, Karagattam as well as entertainment for kids and adults such as Kudai Raatinam (Merry-Go-Round), Nizhal Bommalattam (Shadow Puppetry) and so much more!

The Chitirai Food Festival has free entry for the two days, but you need to purchase food coupons that are redeemable across all the stalls.
