Eagles of Death Metal Launch New Canadian Craft Beer to Benefit Victims of Paris Terror Attacks

on

In November last year, American rock band Eagles of Death Metal were on stage at Le Bataclan when gunmen opened fire and terrorized the city of Paris. And now, six months later, the band have tied up with a Canadian brewery to to launch a new craft beer. And a dollar of each purchased bottle goes to their charity, The Sweet Stuff Foundation.

Called Boots Electric India Pale Ale – named after front man Jesse Hughes – is being produced by Ontario based Manantler Brewing Company. Their first run sold out right after their debut during Eagles of Death Metal’s shows in Canada. Manantler co-owner spoke with the National Post and said that the company will be brewing another batch which will be ready in about three weeks.

James Gorry, co-owner, told the Toronto Star that didn’t take much convincing to get the band behind the beer. He also said, “They didn’t ask what size brewery we were or where we were. I think they liked the idea and they liked that we came up with it based on being musicians ourselves and being moved by the events that happened there and also just ultimately being really big fans of Eagles of Death Metal.”

All funds donated to The Sweet Stuff Foundation benefit families of the 130 people killed in the attack.
