Gordon Ramsay does a good turn and offers a job to a struggling chef
On Sunday, world renowned and award winning Chef Gordon Ramsay took part in his first Reddit Ask-Me-Anything (AMA), offering insight into his life as a chef and giving advice to aspiring chefs. The AMA turned a tad bit serious when a struggling chef asked Ramsay’s advice on how to cope with the stressful life of working in a high-end kitchen.
The chef who has had a hard life at home and in the kitchen describes his ‘disaster’ of a life and talks about the few moments on the dining room floor that “makes the previous 14-hours of sweat and tears kind of worthwhile.”
Ramsay who has been famous for being hard on chefs on his popular TV show “Hell’s Kitchen”, seemed to understand exactly what the chef was going through and offered some heartfelt advice for anyone dealing with burnout, “Never give up. But don’t be scared to take a break”. Towards the end of his response, Ramsay made the chef a life-changing offer: A chance to work at one of his restaurants!
“Listen – if you send me your resume, I could look at putting you into one of the restaurants as a work experience, if you want to see something different, in order to make sure you don’t come off the rails, to see something different, to create that level of interest,” wrote Ramsay.
We are super excited for the chef and hopes that this will make his life a wee bit better.
