Chennai
Hablife Spells fab life.
Chennai is known for its warm smiles. We were greeted with nothing less when we stepped into Hablis Hotel for the launch of their latest project – Hablife. We were escorted to the rooftop of the hotel where state of the art aqua gym, beautiful poolside tables, a crisp night breeze and a fresh mint drink welcomed us. Seated by the pool, we also got a wonderful view of the city.
After a short tour of the place, we learned that they have a host of services to offer that is sure to be a huge hit in the city.
Hablife has 2 levels –
The pool and the Pan Asian restaurant
Spalon, Juice bar, Herb Garden and Gym
Let’s address the most obvious attraction at level one – The infinity pool.
With hues of red, blue and green, the pool lights up the place, painting a perfect picture. At first glance, you think – this pool is…really nice. And then you’re told that you can actually do cardio and other exercises in the water! Kiss goodbye to that sore feeling in your joints after a workout. An aqua gym is just what you need.
When Salon met Spa, they called it Nirvana.
Get pampered like royalty. It’s one thing to read about a Spa and quite another to have a group of people dedicated to making you feel like a queen/king. So no amount of words can do justice to the service that you will receive from the spalon at Hablife.
What completes your health routine?
Food.
The Pan Asian restaurant and the juice bar (on the higher level) are both novel in its creation.
“Asian people live the longest as their cuisine is the healthiest, ” says Nirupa, their Marketing manager.
With a keen focus on healthy food and pleasant experience, the restaurant serves a delicious, beautifully presented range of items that won’t make you feel guilty for indulging in them.
What we had :
Ebi Tempura
Deep Fried prawn with ginger radish soya sauce.
Crisp and light, the prawns were cooked to perfection. The presentation of the dish was perfect. This would’ve been a complete winner had the ginger radish soya sauce had a tad heavier flavour of soya.
Chicken Satay
Skewered chicken served with peanut and sweet chilli sauce.
The chicken was soft and well done. Being a huge fan of peanuts, the combination of peanut and chilli in the sauce complemented this dish perfectly.
Masamankhai
Classic Thai chicken curry
A hint of lemongrass and a dollop of love. If you love Thai cuisine, this dish is a definitely a winner especially when paired with the classic Chinese chicken fried rice.
The Juice bar
One would usually expect to hear only “fruit juices” when you hear juice bar. But not at Hablife. Herb and vegetable juices are also available here. With a herb garden just outside its doors, this is as fresh as it gets. I can feel my carbs melting away. Well, not really, but it’s healthy and that feels great!
All in all, our forever hungry (pun sort of intended) team had a blast at Hablife.
We hear they’re open for lunch and dinner. Sweeter words have not been spoken. Want to feel fabulous, anyone?
