Mumbai Gets Even More Social With Khar Social And A Skatepark!

on

#I remember visiting Bangalore’s Church Street Social back in 2013 and falling in love with its chicken wings, its quirky decor and its upbeat corporate meets party crowd vibe. In that order. Imagine my pleasure when the Social Offline chain came to Mumbai in 2014 in the form of Colaba Social. Then, in early 2015, another Social opened up in Todi Mill, followed by a third in same vicinity; in the swanky Palladium mall. And, in what seems like a minute gap of time, Mumbai welcomed yet another Social in Khar.

Indeed, Mumbai is a welcoming city for a concept like the Social Offline chain which creates (in their words) “a space that blends the best of the office and the café. Combining work and play, it’s an urban hangout designed to take you offline while still keeping you connected. Social is a collaborative workspace, a hub for artists and innovators.”

Since Mumbaikars are normally simultaneously both at work and play, Social seems like a perfect destination for them. Here, we take you through the four Socials that can be found in Mumbai and what they’re known for.

Colaba Social

Colaba

The original Mumbaiya Social, Colaba Social stands proudly opposite the Taj Mahal Palace landmark hotel on the Gateway of India. Compared to its other Mumbai counterparts, it seems quite small and is almost always packed with the corporate crowd letting loose and a few foreigners trying to absorb Mumbai’s party vibe.

Todi Mill Social

TodiMill

This is a sprawling 7000 sqaure feet space that retains the charm and feel of the Mill it is housed in. It offers a community workspace, which allows you to access (at Rs.5000 per month) a scanner, conference room, Wi-Fi and a printer.

Palladium Social

PalladiumSocial

The Palladium Social, which sprouted up in the place of the Manchester United Cafe and Bar in the main Palladium mall focuses on craft beer, brewed by craft breweries in the city, and craft burgers with options like the SMS (spinach mushroom and shiitake) burger. Palladium Social is your best bet when you need to wind down after a long day of retail therapy!

Khar Social

Khar

Khar Social’s space is filled with recycled and upcycled elements and the city’s first – wait for it – skate park! Designed by Nick Smith, Red Bull and Social itself, the skate park is surrounded by graffiti, tapping into Mumbai’s urban jungle vibe.

Which Social is for you? Wherever you go, be sure to try out their LLIITs and their Ramesh Suresh dessert. Oh, and the chicken wings of course!
