PepperTap To Step Out And Experience City Life
After its success in Delhi NCR and Pune, PepperTap is now tapping the unexplored markets of tier-2 cities. The Indian grocery delivery start up is all set to enlarge its service spectrum by probing into tier-2 cities that include Ahmedabad, Surat, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Kolkata. The company will be associating with around 25 grocers in each of these cities to make its operations live in the entire city at one go.
Stocking Up On Ground Staff
The company will be hiring around 1000 people including on-ground delivery staff to ensure smooth services. It had raised $10 million in a series A funding from Sequoia Capital and SAIF Partners in April. Sequoia Capital had also invested a $1.2 million seed round in the startup in March.
Navneet Singh, Co-Founder, PepperTap commented, “Expansion is part of our core mandate at present. Hence, we are rapidly covering as many cities as we can to offer people superlative hyper local online grocery delivery services. After receiving a terrific response from consumers in Delhi and Pune, we are now concentrating on the tier-2 cities that are increasingly developing a penchant for online services.”
Upcoming Endeavors
PepperTap plans to venture into new markets next namely in Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru.
Other players like ZopNow and Grofers also operate in similar space. Sequoia Capital backs both PepperTap and its rival Grofers but PepperTap claims to process more orders on a daily basis than the latter.
