The Ultimate Guide To The Best Restaurants In Fort, South Mumbai
Last week, we told you all about the best places to eat in Colaba, Mumbai; a heritage destination that is also frequented by bargain hunters and shopaholics. If you walk a few steps North, you’ll arrive at Fort, a locale that is home to dozens of offices as well as a variety of heritage buildings. Fort has a massive collection of restaurants; here are the ones you must visit!
Vegetarian
Fort has a large collection of eateries that cater to all those wearing veggie hats. For Indian or Italian fare, Spices & Flavours is a great option; read about what you can order there here. Oye Kake, which serves North Indian eats, is another good option if you’re after Indian flavours. Yet another pure veg Indian destination is Chetana which serves amazing Rajasthani and Gujrati thalis.
The Nutcracker, in Kala Ghoda is a pretty all vegetarian cafe that serves great European breakfasts. For vegetarian Oriental fare, Burma Burma is our pick.

We also love Mamagoto, for its Oriental non-vegetarian dishes and Jimmy Boy for authentic Parsi dishes; try the chicken farcha or the mutton berry pulao.

Bars
After a long day’s work, the corporate crowd that works at the multitude of banks in Fort sometimes wants to let their hair down nearby. The most popular destination for post-work drinking is undoubtedly Irish House that offers beer, television screens and an upbeat vibe.
The Local is popular among the younger clubbing crowd while 145 is a newly opened drinks cafe whose drinks have received rave reviews. We recently visited the newly opened The Bar Terminal, above Spices &Flavours and were blown away by the drinks; read about it here!

You must also try the mawa cakes at the legendary Yazdani Bakery & Restaurant, an authentic Irani cafe.
