Round Up: Here’s What You Shouldn’t Miss In Chennai This Week
We’re already halfway through the year, if you can believe it or not, and there’s still a lot going on in the city. From events to special food festivals and popsicles taking over the summer, there’s something for everyone in the city. In the last year alone, there has been so much more happening in the city and Chennai is steadily warming up to the addition of more. Despite what people say, food lovers in Chennai are adventurous and ready for almost anything if you give them a chance.
In line with that, there’s a lot going on in Chennai this last week of June. Summer is starting to get easier to manage and the hint of monsoons has already taken over the city, cooling our warm nights. Whether it’s a food festival or a invite only dinner, there’s enough for everyone.
M’Bessy Kitchen & Bar
They’ve got two great concepts going on at the restaurant. Popsicles are the perfect way to beat the heat and stay refreshed and M’Bessy has blended the flavours of Italy, Jamaica, Mexico and more to make a range of delicious popsicles that you need to get your hands on. And if popsicles are not your kind of treat, they’re also experimenting with their pizzas! Instead of using water in their pizza base, the chefs at M’Bessy are using beer to give it a different flavour and a little something more to look forward to. Starting at Rs. 200 and available from 12 pm to 12 am. For more details call +044 45510111
Piano, The Savera
Experience the street food of India under one roof when you visit Piano at the Savera Hotel in Mylapore. They have chaat counters and pav bhaji stalls and so much more to choose from. The Flying Elephant, Park Hyatt
Taste delicious poptails (or popsicles for those who are confused) at The Flying Elephant till the end of this month. They’ve got both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options for you to try out and if this isn’t a great way to deal with this weather, then we don’t know what is. On the menu are Red Wine Sangria Poptails, White Wine Sangria Poptails, Kalakhatta Lollies and so much more.
The Westin Chennai
Till the 30th of June, Five Senses at The Westin is hosting a Chinese food festival aptly called “8 Treasures”. Featuring eight different types of Chinese cuisine, the chefs at Five Senses promise to take you on a culinary journey with each dish. And that’s not all! The Westin is also hosting a Mango Extravaganza till the 30th of June from 11am to 11pm every day where you can treat yourself to delicious mango drinks, desserts and other creations.
